The People’s Rebellion Calls for Action on NO KINGS DAY

Olympia, Washington — This Saturday, June 14, The People’s Rebellion, in solidarity and support of Indivisible’s declaration of NO KINGS DAY, will be taking to the streets and marching from the Capital Mall to the Washington State Capitol.... The People’s House!, in Olympia, WA.

The People’s Rebellion is a pro-democracy Western Washington State advocacy group doing activism to express its defiance to the Trump Administration’s oppressive, fascist-oriented policies. Its credo for June 14th is: “NO THRONES, NO CROWNS, NO KINGS.”

Participants are invited to meet at 9:45 AM at the Joann’s Fabrics at 2725 Harrison Ave NW. There will be hydration stations as well as ushers throughout the entire route so that you can join anywhere along the way. At the Capitol, our movement will join with Olympia Indivisible’s NO KINGS National Day of Action.

The People’s Rebellion: Guiding Values

  1. Power flows from the people upward.
  2. Governance protects the vulnerable while promoting freedom.
  3. Conflict is met with restoration, not punishment.
  4. Tech must serve transparency, privacy, and equity.
  5. Civic education builds an engaged public.
  6. Governance must evolve with the needs of the people.
  7. The right to dismantle failing government is retained by the people.
  8. We explicitly guard against fascism, authoritarianism, and concentrated power.
  9. Democracy means decentralization, plurality, and care.

The People’s Rebellion Immediate Demands

  1. Recall of the National Guard from Los Angeles
  2. End of the illegal kidnappings by ICE
  3. Release of all prisoners being held by ICE in the US
  4. Release and return of all prisoners that have been sent to and detained illegally in El Salvador
  5. Dismissal of all charges against Abrego Garcia and all people being illegally targeted by ICE
  6. Abolishment of ICE
  7. Complete divestment from Israel and the immediate cessation of all funding to Israel and the Israeli Occupation Force
  8. Provision of direct aid into Gaza
  9. Trump and all of his staff to be held accountable for their acts of treason and removed from office and prosecuted
  10. Elon Musk be prosecuted for his crimes and removed from this country

Why We March

The march is a tool that brings people together and places the issues into the public consciousness. The People’s Rebellion also focuses on mutual aid, food drives, food sovereignty, skill sharing, and other ways to give back to our community by investing in community-based safety solutions, mental health resources, and harm reduction strategies.

We call for funds to be redirected towards alternative emergency response programs and social goods, including the right to food, safe housing, and universal healthcare. A safer world is one where communities have the power to protect and care for themselves without state violence.
